Ready

Being Ready means coming to school prepared to learn every day. Students are expected to have the correct uniform, the necessary equipment, and a positive attitude towards learning. Being attentive, engaged, and ready to contribute helps create a productive learning environment for all.

Respect

These values are embedded throughout school life through our curriculum, Personal Development programme, assemblies, enrichment opportunities, and wider pastoral support.

Democracy

Students are introduced to the principles of democracy from Year 7 and develop an understanding of how democratic systems operate within the United Kingdom. They learn the importance of participation, representation, and ensuring that all voices are heard.

Democracy is also experienced first-hand through opportunities to vote for student leaders, House Captains, Sports Captains, and School Council representatives. These experiences help students understand how democratic processes work and encourage active participation within their community.

The Rule of Law

Students are taught the importance of laws and rules in creating safe, fair, and successful communities. Through lessons, assemblies, and everyday school life, they learn why laws exist, how they protect individuals and society, and the responsibilities that accompany them.

Visits from external agencies and community organisations further reinforce these messages and help students understand the role of the law in modern society.

Individual Liberty

We encourage students to make informed choices within a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Through our curriculum and pastoral programme, students develop an understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and freedoms, as well as the importance of exercising them safely and responsibly.
