Due to the growing popularity of the academy and a rapid growth in student numbers, we are seeking to appoint an additional Director of Learning to join our extended leadership team.
We are a successful 11-19 stand-alone academy where our school community benefits from excellent facilities in our modern and purpose-built school. We are looking for candidates who share our commitment and determination to providing a learning environment that enables all young people to thrive.
Our most recent OFSTED inspection (May 2018) saw the academy judged as ‘Good’ with many outstanding features.
We offer extensive professional development opportunities with a structured path to enable progression at every stage of your career. This includes leadership training, secondments at other schools, coaching and mentoring. We also support our staff undertaking NPQ’s. We are proud to be a “Brilliant School” and have recently been awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools.
We’re looking for a Director of Learning – Behaviour & Attitudes with a proven track record of success in improving standards and raising pupil outcomes. We want to hear from talented middle or senior leaders looking to extend their experience, and outstanding, ambitious teachers seeking their first leadership post to take the lead on our behaviour and attitude provision across school.
As an experienced teacher, you will develop our behaviour and attendance strategies to meet the needs of every type of learner and have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our young people. This will include strategic leadership of our Inclusion and Enhanced Provision facilities. The successful candidate will be a committed and inspirational team player with excellent organisational and motivational skills. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a successful pastoral team drawing on your extensive leadership experience.
Our ideal candidate will:
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- An ability to teach in a shortage area
- A good understanding of statutory requirements in all key stages.
- A good understanding of the needs of learners with diverse needs
- The ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
- Experience of effectively managing behaviour and pastoral provision.
- Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.
