Part time – flexible working options can be considered

The Elizabethan Academy is a successful 11-19 Academy, rated GOOD by OFSTED. Students and staff benefit from excellent newly built facilities on site. We are looking for an individual to share our commitment and determination to providing a learning environment that enables all young people to thrive. We have all-encompassing professional development with a structured path to enable career progression. This includes secondments at other schools in the East Midlands and staff coaching.

This post could suit an NQT as well as a more experienced applicant. We would also welcome applications from candidates with suitable experience to undertake this role as an Unqualified Teacher, for example a graduate considering progression to Teacher Training.

This post will initially be recruited on a one year fixed term

The successful candidate will join a hardworking, forward thinking and supportive department at an exciting time.  We hold Gold ArtsMark status as awarded by Arts Council England in recognition of our excellence in this area.  This is a prestigious award and follows a rigorous selection process.

The Academy provides a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities generally but also with an Expressive Arts focus. We have a team of peripatetic teachers who visit to deliver instrumental lessons; an award winning choir; wind band; percussion group; school orchestra; and a yearly musical production which is regarded as major highlight of the school calendar. Any successful candidate should indicate how they would be able to contribute to the on-going wider aspects of school life including their expertise in particular musical instruments / disciplines in their application.

Our staff are passionate and enthusiastic which is key to our student’s success. In turn, we are passionate about our staff, their career prospects and their wellbeing.

We have excellent CPL opportunities and are part of the Redhill Teaching Alliance. We work closely with our feeder primary schools and the successful candidate will have scope for working across the phase.

  • be adept at delivering the subject at Key Stages 3-5
