A Rare Opportunity to Join a Unique School

The Elizabethan Academy is an oversubscribed and highly popular 11-19 stand-alone academy with a fantastic reputation for supporting all students and staff in equal measure. We recognise that our staff are our most important asset, and we are committed to protecting their wellbeing while providing high-quality training and development opportunities.

We are immensely proud to be an outward-facing and innovative stand-alone academy. Teachers are given the freedom to be creative in their pedagogy while ensuring that every child receives the high-quality education they deserve. We also recognise the value of subject expertise and place strong emphasis on this through our tailored CPD programme. We believe that teachers learn even more from observing others than from being observed themselves, and we have a strong commitment to coaching as a tool for professional growth.

This is an exciting time to join the Academy. Under the direction of a new Principal, a number of positive changes have already been implemented, with more planned in the near future to support our journey toward excellence.

Why Join Us?

  • Extensive Professional Development – We offer structured career progression, leadership training, secondment opportunities, coaching, mentoring, and support for staff undertaking NPQs.

  • A Culture of Collaboration and Coaching – We believe in the power of coaching to develop teachers at all stages of their careers, ensuring they feel supported and continuously improve.

  • Wellbeing and Staff Support – We are proud to be a Brilliant School and have recently been awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools.

  • A Commitment to Excellence – Our most recent OFSTED inspection (February 2024) judged the academy as Good with many outstanding features.

  • A Fully Inclusive Environment – We foster a welcoming and diverse community where everyone feels valued.

  • Modern Facilities – Our staff and students benefit from excellent facilities in our purpose-built school.

The Role: Teacher of Spanish (MPS/UPS)

We are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic Teacher of Spanish to join our team. This role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced applicants. We can offer KS3 and KS4 teaching, with KS5 available for the right candidate.

Our Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Embrace our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.

  • Be passionate about teaching languages and inspire students to develop a love of languages.

  • Demonstrate commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for students.

  • Show ambition and optimism about what both the academy and every student can achieve.

  • Have the drive to make a transformative impact—whether as a Form Tutor, in their languages classroom, through extra-curricular activities, or by leading an enrichment session in a unique area that ignites their passion.
