To all our 2026 Year 7 Parent/Carers

Welcome to The Elizabethan Academy

We are really delighted to be welcoming your family to the Elizabethan Academy community as your child is starting with us in Year 7 in September 2026.  We are immensely proud of our school and have nothing but high hopes and the best aspirations for every child that joins us here.

The academy is oversubscribed and our 2026 PAN (Pupil Admission Number) for year 7 has increased significantly over the past 10 years.  For this specific year group we have increased the offer of places once again. 

Every year our year 7 students join us from as many as 25 different primary schools.  Our catchment area is mainly rural with small numbers of students coming to us from many of the primaries.  We strive to ensure that any students joining us from further afield and/or whom don't attend one of our link schools quickly make friends and settle well.

One parent told us: “The thought of my daughter's transition from a small village school to a large secondary, filled me with dread!  However, I have only the highest regard for the Elizabethan and the systems in place to ease the way for their new students.  I couldn't be happier with the way my daughter has settled into The Elizabethan. I am very proud of her and commend the school for supporting her along the way.”

We have created this dedicated Transition space on our website so that we can keep you up to date with as much information as possible between now and the beginning of September 2025.  It is really important to us that you and your child experience as smooth a transition as possible.  With this in mind, we will upload and enable you to access a copy of all the documents and information we publish related to Transition, between now and your child starting with us.  We hope this will assist you and your child with all your preparations and arrangements.  This will include information about uniform, I Pay, bus services, our student information system and parent app, Transition Days, Summer School, Academy procedures and much more.

Please be aware that there is already a wealth of valuable information for you to access across other sections of our website.  I would also recommend that you try to access our social media sites, Facebook and Instagram.

I would also like to take the opportunity to confirm that children who start with us in September and have a sibling already attending, will be placed in the same House.
